(Norton 411 LP) DION - KICKIN' CHILD The lost 1965 Columbia album arrives- 52 years later! Here it is on vinyl with all of Dion's  blueswailin', folk-blazin', rock n' stormin' monsters, track after track after track. Cut in '65 with producer Tom Wilson on all but three tracks, this album was slated, then shelved, for reasons that come to light in Scott Kempner's illuminating liners. Whoever's got the crown, label it DIMUCCI and express it to Dion, with love. Absolutely ESSENTIAL. Pick up the 45 RPM vinyl single (non-LP b-side) too. Also available on compact disc from Norton.

Kickin' Child / Now / My Love / I Can't Help Wonder Where I'm Bound / Wake Up Baby / Time In My Heart For You /Tomorrow Won't Bring the Rain /Baby, I'm in the Mood For You/Two Ton Feather/ Knowing I Won't Go Back There / Farewell / All I Want To Do Is Live My Life / You Move Me Babe / It's All Over Now Baby Blue / So Much Younger

    Probably Dion's best LP

Posted by TheHound on 5th Feb 2020

This "lost" album of Dion's mid-60's Columbia recordings is probably his best album, if you don't count the greatest hits LP's. Every tune is killerr. A must for all rockers.

Great Music and Vinyl, Packaging and delivery a little weak though

Posted by Aaron M Olson on 31st Aug 2017

The album is fantastic! I am so thrilled to have these lost Dion recordings! The vinyl and sound quality is very good. My gripe is that the gatefold album cover is a little flimsy (not great card stock) and that the delivery packaging was very loose and caused a little bending damage to the cover. Thanks for the music! I'd love it if the gatefold cover sleeve was a thicker cardboard though.

    Love it!

This album really took me back to the mid-60s. The rockers are good old-style, the ballads moving, the Folk-Rock tracks are perfect examples of the era, and Dion's voice is amazing (and still is today). Highly recommended.
